with reference to my despatch 0.377 of 5th
September,1927, I have the honour to transmit herewith
six copies of a bill, which it is proposed to introduce
in the Legislative Council, together with copies of
the regulations it is proposed to make under the
powers given in the bill.
2. The object of the bill is to establish a
register for nurses for the sick in the Colony, to
make provision for the training of such nurses, and to
fix the standard of their training and to provide for
the examination of such nurses before they are
admitted to the register.
The bill follows the
provisions of the nurses Registration Act,1919, and
the standard of training and examination is that set
forth in the rules published by the General Iursing
Council for England and Wales.
3. One of the chief objects of the bill is to
obtain reciprocity of treatment from the ursing
Councils of England and Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
Provision is made in the bill for the admission to
the register of nurses who may be, at the time of
application, on the register of the General Councils
of England and Wales,Scotland or Ireland. These
